On this week’s podcast we get our hands on Batman: Arkham City and follow up on some of this year’s new Fall TV shows. We even take some time to discuss the newly released Grand Theft Auto V trailer.

    Batman: Arkham City (01:24 – 26:26)

Arkham City is the highly anticipated follow up to 2009′s Arkham Asylum. A section of Arkham City has been closed off to house Gotham’s prisoners including such colorful characters as Joker, the Penguin and the Riddler. Bruce Wayne is arrested and dropped inside and tries to learn more about this new prison being overseen by Hugo Strange.

We also take some time at the end of this segment to give our thought on the new announcement of Grand Theft Auto V. Here’s the trailer if you haven’t seen it yet.

    More new Fall TV (26:46 – 68:03)

We had taken a look at a number of new fall shows a few weeks ago and we wanted to come back and see what shows we had stuck with and what other new shows we’ve started watching. We take a look at a number of shows including The Walking Dead Season 2, Ringer, Grimm, Once Upon a Time, American Horror Story and Wilfred.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows review

On the show this week we take a look our second last look at the Harry Potter series, we look back at the first season of the Walking Dead and we take a look at an older title for the Xbox 360 and the Wii, Bully.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1 (01:54 – 16:27)

Based on the book of the same name, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1 follows our gang as they take a sabbatical from Hoggwarts and attempt to hunt down the remaining horcruxes. The final film in the series has been split into two parts with the conclusion coming in July 2011.

    The Walking Dead Season 1 (16:51 -34:27)

We had already looked at the premiere episode back in October. Now six episodes later, the first season has wrapped up and we take a look back to reflect on what we thought of the series so far. Season 2 is scheduled to begin October 2011 on AMC.

    Bully (34:40 – 52:08)

Originally released on the PlayStation 2 back in 2006, Bully sees you play as a young man recently sent off to Bullworth Academy boarding school. Developed by Rockstar Games, known for the Grand Theft Auto series, Bully is very much in the GTA mold as you run about the campus taking quests from various people around the school without attracting too much attention of the school authorities. We looked at the game both on the Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii.

    Tiny Tim’s Tremendous Tank (16:25 – 25:47)

Kev brought us a recently released indie game on the Xbox 360 Marketplace developed by Lighthouse Games Studio.  Tiny Tim, along with his Tremendous Tank, travel in this side scrolling game challenging you to conquer the physics of the tank and shoot sheep and bunnies!

    The Social Network (26:03 – 35:16)

Based on the book by Ben Mezrich The Accidental Billionaires, The Social Network is the true-ish story of the founding and creation of Facebook. The film is written by Aaron Sorkin and directed by David Fincher.

    The Walking Dead (35:31 – 52:02)

Lots of people have been anticipating this show, us included. We’ve looked at the comic book series, taken a behind the scenes look at the making of TV series and even got some info at the New York Comic Con panel. The show had a big debut on Halloween and has already had a second season confirmed. Give a listen to check out our review.

The Walking Dead panel at NYCC

If you’re getting ready for tonight’s series premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead, we have a look at the panel that happened a couple of weeks back at New York Comic Con. The event was probably one of the most anticipated of the entire weekend and filled the IGN theater to capacity. The panel brought out series creator Frank Darabont, producer Gale Hurd and writer Robert Kirkman, who’s also the writer and creator of the original comic series, discussing how the series came to be. The decision to go with a television series rather than a feature film was made because they felt that there had already been so many zombie films and that this material lent itself to a more serialized nature. When asked about the experience of working with AMC, they noted that the network was already familiar with Kirkman’s comic series and were enthusiastic about adapting it for TV. They have been very hands off and easy to work with allowing them produce the show how they saw fit.
