On this week’s podcast we take a look at the new Star Wars comic series The Old Republic along with two games, Voltron: Defender of the Universe and Rochard.
Star Wars: The Old Republic (01:07 – 10:12)
Based on the upcoming BioWare game of the same name, The Old Republic is a new comic series set years before the films we are familiar with. Andrew got a chance to read through Volume 1 – Blood of the Empire and is here to give us his take on the series. You can preview the series at the official DarkHorse site.
Voltron: Defender of the Universe (10:32 – 27:41)
Developed by Behavior Interactive, Voltronis a new downloadable game based on the 1980′s animated series. This twin stick shooter allows you to take control one of the five Voltron lions allowing you to shoot and pounce on your targets. We looked at the game on the Xbox 360 but it is also available on the PS3.
Rochard (27:55 – 35:56)
We also have a new side scrolling platformer game called Rochard. Developed by Recoil Games, this game hands you a gravity gun and sends you on your merry way to solve numerous puzzles. The game is available on Steam and the PS3. At the time of our recording there wasn’t a demo available but there is one now posted over in the Steam store.</itunes:summary>

On this week’s episode we review the new indie game DLC Quest and the Dark Horse upcoming hardcover release, Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Lost Command.
DLC Quest (02:04 – 13:08)
Developed by Going Loud Studios, DLC Quest is a new game where every aspect of the game is acquired by purchasing downloadable content. Like music. Or the pause menu. Or even the ability to move left. But fear not, this DLC is purchased with currency you find in the game and not your own hard earned money. The game is available on the Xbox Live Marketplace for 80 MS Points.
Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Lost Command (13:30 – 34:11)
Taking place not long after the events of Revenge of the Sith, this story sees Darth Vader on a mission to locate the missing son of Moff Tarkin. But even as a loyal servant of the Empire, Vader still grieves for his wife and is conflicted over the choices he has made. The book started out as as a 5 issue mini series earlier this year but will be available as a hard cover collection on November 30. The book is published by Dark Horse comics and you can preview and pre-order the book at their website.</itunes:summary>
