1. Drive – The New 52 – Conduit 2 – Ep 139 – Just Another Saturday

    This week on the podcast, we look at the new Ryan Gosling film Drive, some select titles from the recent DC relaunch and a Wii game from earlier this year, Conduit 2.

    Drive (01:23 – 27:33)

    Based on the 2005 novel by James Sallis, Drive tells the story of a stunt driver who also spends his off hours as a getaway driver. This heist film stars Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston and Albert Brooks.

    The New 52 (28:06 – 55:02)

    The New 52 refers to DC’s relaunch of 52 of their ongoing titles starting everything back at issue 1. We each took a look at a few different titles and discussed what we thought of the entire relaunch concept.

    Conduit 2 (55:23 – 64:19)

    We wrap it up by looking at game for the Nintendo Wii that was released earlier this year in the spring, Conduit 2. This FPS game picks up immediately where its predecessor left off as your character Michael Ford continues his pursuit of John Adams.

    On this week’s podcast we look back at an acclaimed Nintendo game from last year, Kirby’s Epic Yarn and a new PC puzzle game, Vampire Saga: Welcome to Hell Lock.

    Kirby’s Epic Yarn (00:53 – 16:53)

    Kirby’s Epic Yarn is the first game in the Kirby series released for the Wii console. In this game Kirby finds himself in Patch Land; a world made up  fabric and yarn that needs to be stitched back together.

    Vampire Saga: Welcome to Hell Lock (17:13 – 33:14)

    Vampire Saga: Welcome to Hell Lock is a new game for the PC developed by Alawar Entertainment. You’ve just crashed your motorcycle in a strange town and don’t know where, or who, you are. and you must search the town for clues to solve various puzzles. The game can be purchased over at the Alawar site and an demo is also available for download.


  3. Puzzle Agent 2 – Torchwood – 3 on 3 NHL – Ep 128 – Rent a Friend

    On this week’s podcast we review a pair of games, the newly released Puzzle Agent 2 and 3 on 3 NHL Arcade from a couple of years ago. We also look back at Torchwood season 3 entitled Children of Earth.

    Puzzle Agent 2 (1:29 – 20:09)

    In Puzzle Agent 2, you are FBI Agent Nelson Tethers of the Department of Puzzle Research who returns to the scene of the first game, Scoggins, Minnesota, to tie up some loose ends left over from the first game. We looked at the Windows version of the game but it is also available for MAC, the iPhone and the iPad.

    Torchwood – Children of Earth (20:19 – 38:58)

    With season 4 of Torchwood recently debuting, we decided to look back at season 3; a five part series entitled Children of Earth.

    3 on 3 NHL Arcade (39:17 – 49:35)

    Developed by EA sports, this game is an arcade style hockey game that’s different from their usual sim style of games. The game is available on the Xbox Live Arcade and the PSN network.


  4. Ghost Trick – Dead Space Extraction – All Hail Megatron – Ep 103

    On the podcast this week we’re looking at three different games; Ghost Trick, A Space Shooter…for 2 Bucks and Dead Space Extraction.  Plus we also have a review of the Transformers comic series, All Hail Megatron.

    Ghost Trick (02:03 – 22:30)

    Released earlier this month for the Nintendo DS, Ghost Trick tells the story of a man who wakes up to realize he’s just died… and he’s found a talking lamp. Developed by Capcom, Ghost Trick is also available on iOS.

    A Space Shooter…for 2 Bucks (22:53 – 32:27)

    Developed by Frima Studios, this game, as the title suggests, is a space shooter available for the low price of two dollars. Kev takes a look at this game on the PSP but it is also available on the PlayStation Network on the PS3.

    Dead Space Extraction (32:36 – 41:20)

    Developed by Visceral Games, Dead Space Extraction is the prequel to the original Dead Space. This version is much different from the original game in that it is a first person rail shooter rather than a third person shooter. The game is currently available exclusively on the Wii but will also be bundled with the PS3 version of Dead Space 2.

    All Hail Megatron (41:48 – 76:32)

    Lastly we take a look at a 2008 Transformers comic series published by IDW. This 16 issue series sees the Decepticons cause havoc in many of earth’s major cities while the Autobots are trapped on Cybertron.
