On this week’s podcast we take a look at this summer’s third Marvel super hero movie, Captain America: The First Avenger as well as the film Cowboys and Aliens.

Captain America: The First Avenger is the origin story of Steve Rogers, a volunteer for a military experiment that turns him into a super soldier. The film is directed by Joe Johnston and stars Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Hugo Weaving and Tommy Lee Jones.

Cowboys and Aliens (19:27 – 43:27)

Cowboys and Aliens is about a man who wakes up in the desert in 1873 to discover aliens are abducting the local residents and he has a piece of alien technology attached to his arm. Based on the graphic novel of the same name, the film stars Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde.

This week we take a look the latest and final Harry Potter film as well as the comic series Invincible. We also take some time to  touch on some recent mobile gaming addictions and some new trailers for a few upcoming super hero films.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2 (01:45 – 22:05)

This past weekend saw the release of the latest Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2. This film not only concludes Part 1, but also wraps up the entire series of Harry Potter films.

Andrew brings us this comic series from Robert Kirkman and artist Cory Walker. Published by Image comics, Invincible is actually the name of the lead character who is learning to adjust to his new found abilities.

Game of Thrones – Season 1 (03:11 – 17:38)

Developed by Final Form games, Jamestown is a top down vertical shooter. The game is currently only available for the PC and can be purchased through Steam.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon ( 29:59 – 54:05)

The Transformers return with their third live action film. Michael Bay also returns to direct in what he claims will be his final time with the series. Check out our review to see if he leaves the series on a high note.

Green Lantern is the origin story of the long running DC character. Directed by Martin Campbell the film stars Ryan Reynolds in the lead role along with Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard and Mark Strong.

Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters (08:57 – 15:43)

But if that’s not enough Green Lantern, Kevin also brings us the game which coincides with the release of the film. The game is available for the major consoles as well as portable and mobile devices as well.

Terraria (16:17 – 40:17)

Terraria is an indie game developed by Re-Logic for the PC. The game has been noted for having a lot of similarities to Minecraft but also has added some RPG elements as well as unique tools and items to find and build.
