On this week’s podcast we review the new film Hobo with a Shotgun, the new downloadable game Ghostbusters Sanctum of Slime and Andrew jumps in with a look at Hoard for the PSP.
Ghostbusters Sanctum of Slime is a top down four player game where you play as part of a new crew of Ghostbusters who, well…, bust ghosts. The game is currently available on the Xbox Live Arcade, on PSN for the PlayStation 3 and for Windows.
Hobo with a Shotgun (17:57 – 35:12)
The original trailer for Hobo with a Shotgun was originally shown as one of several fake trailers, along with Machete, during screenings of Grindhouse. Fast forward a few years and now its evolved into a full length film starring Rutger Hauer. The film opened in Canada on March 25 but will be available via On Demand on April 1 and hits theaters in the US on May 6.
Hoard (35:30 – 41:44)
Andrew shares some thoughts on the downloadable game Hoard for the PSP. It’s developed by Vancouver’s Big Sandwich Games and is also available for the PS3, Windows and Mac.
I had a chance to chat briefly with Ernie Hudson while he was a guest at Toronto Comic Con 2010 and he was gracious enough to answer a few questions on camera. I asked him about his thoughts on Oz and its impact and what he’d ideally like to see if/when there is a Ghostbusters 3. Check out the video below.
Here are we are again with episode # 22. This week we got a brand new game release and something a little different for our movie review. We dug way down and pulled up a couple of flicks for an Out of the Bin segment.
Ghostbusters the Game
Ghostbusters 1 and 2 – Out of the Bin
And in case you wanted one of those Ghostbusters USB drives that we mention, here’s more info.
We just mentioned this on the podcast a couple of weeks back and now a new trailer has launched today. I’m honestly not sure what to make of this. On one hand it does look good but on the other, I’m not convinced fast action and explosions are what naturally come to mind when I think of Sherlock Holmes. I do know Mark Strong was awesome in RocknRolla so I’m definitely interested to see what he brings to the table.
The Road
The Road is based on Cormac McCarthy’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel. I haven’t had a chance to read the book yet but I hear its great. And last I checked, they don’t often hand Pulitzers out to shitty books. This certainly has a great cast so I’m looking forward to it.
Ghostbusters
It seems like I’ve been hearing about this game forever and its finally due to come out next month. This looks like it could be promising and I think this could work really well on the Wii.
