A pair of trailers for two critically acclaimed TV shows were released within the last week. Let’s take a look, shall we?
The Walking Dead – Season 2
After a successful first season, The Walking Dead returns for it’s sophomore season this fall. One of the things that I appreciated about the first season was that the zombie outbreak was not so much the focus of the show but that we dealt more with the group of characters surviving in this situation. In this trailer, it seems that the group begins to splinter as the events that they’ve endured have begun to take their toll. And as we see at the end of the trailer, we will at some point get a look at the Greene farm. It was also announced today that Frank Darabont has stepped down from his role as series show runner so we’ll have to see what effect this will have on the second season as it is still filming. The second season premieres on AMC on October 16.
Dexter – Season 6
In my opinion, Dexter is a show that has had some great seasons and at one time was one of the better show on television. But with 5 seasons under it’s belt, it should really think about setting an end date. What was once a cutting edge show has now become predictable and has a premise that is becoming less and less believable. With that said, I do have to admit that this is a well put together trailer and it could mean that there is some life left in the series – pun fully intended. This year sees the additions of Edward James Olmos, Collin Hanks and Mos Def to the cast. The new season premieres on Showtime on October 2.
