    On this week’s podcast we take a look at three different games to come from this year’s Xbox Summer of Arcade series; Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet , From Dust and Bastion. We also head to the theater to check out the film Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

    Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet (01:15 – 18:23)

    Created by Shadow Planet Productions, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet sees you navigate your spaceship through different environments with various tools at your disposal to help you find your way. The game is available exclusively on the Xbox Live Arcade.

    From Dust (18:24 – 31:33)

    From Dust sees you take on a god like role as you control the elements in order to guide your tribe to their destinations. Developed by Ubisoft, the game is available on the Xbox Live Arcade as well as the PlayStation Network.

    Bastion (31:34 – 48:27)

    Bastion is an RPG style game whose world literally forms as you travel through it. Developed by Supergiant Games the game is available on Steam as well the Xbox Live Arcade.

    Rise of the Planet of the Apes (48:45 – 62:52)

    This film acts as both a prequel as well as a reboot of the original Planet of the Apes series which began way back in 1968. The film boasts an extensive cast including James Franco, Freida Pinto, Andy Serkis, John Lithgow, Brian Cox and Tom Felton.

    On this week’s podcast we take a look at this summer’s third Marvel super hero movie, Captain America: The First Avenger as well as the film Cowboys and Aliens.

    Captain America: The First Avenger (01:28 – 19:14)

    Captain America: The First Avenger is the origin story of Steve Rogers, a volunteer for a military experiment that turns him into a super soldier. The film is directed by Joe Johnston and stars Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Hugo Weaving and Tommy Lee Jones.

    Cowboys and Aliens (19:27 – 43:27)

    Cowboys and Aliens is about a man who wakes up in the desert in 1873 to discover aliens are abducting the local residents and he has a piece of alien technology attached to his arm. Based on the graphic novel of the same name, the film stars Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford and Olivia Wilde.

    On this week’s podcast we look back at an acclaimed Nintendo game from last year, Kirby’s Epic Yarn and a new PC puzzle game, Vampire Saga: Welcome to Hell Lock.

    Kirby’s Epic Yarn is the first game in the Kirby series released for the Wii console. In this game Kirby finds himself in Patch Land; a world made up  fabric and yarn that needs to be stitched back together.

    Vampire Saga: Welcome to Hell Lock (17:13 – 33:14)

    Vampire Saga: Welcome to Hell Lock is a new game for the PC developed by Alawar Entertainment. You’ve just crashed your motorcycle in a strange town and don’t know where, or who, you are. and you must search the town for clues to solve various puzzles. The game can be purchased over at the Alawar site and an demo is also available for download.


  4. Interviews with Adam Baldwin and Meaghan Rath – Ep 130 – Sideboob

    This week we have something a little different. With everyone being tied up this week, we decided to skip the usual show. Instead, we have a pair of interviews with Adam Baldwin and Meaghan Rath recorded during the Polaris 25 convention which happened back on July 15, 16 and 17.

    Interview with Adam Baldwin (02:24 – 27:37)

    Adam Baldwin is known for a variety of roles including Full Metal JacketIndependence Day and The X Files. However he is probably most famously known for his roles as Jayne Cobb in Firefly/Serenity and currently as John Casey on Chuck.

    Interview with Meaghan Rath (28:00 – 50:20)

    Meaghan plays Sally Malik in the SyFy series Being Human, a ghost who finds herself living under the same roof with a vampire and a werewolf. The show finished up it’s first season back in the spring and is currently filming for season 2.
