We have a packed show this week. We look at a new DVD release from writer, director Terry Gilliam, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus as well as a new theatrical release, The Losers. We also have two games for the Xbox Live Arcade, Puzzle Chronicles and Baby Maker Extreme. And we revisit Kick Ass which we looked at last week, but this time we look at the comic series which inspired the movie.
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (01:43 – 13:57)
Toronto Comic Con hosted a panel for Caprica just as the show was reaching its mid season finale. The panel featured Magda Apanowicz (Lacy Rand) and Luciana Carro (Priyah Magnus) who fans may also recognize as Kat from Battlestar Galactica. The ladies shared their experiences working on Caprica including working with CGI Cylons, James Marsters and what they’d like to see happen in the remaining episodes of Season 1.
This week on the show we look at a pair of new games. We start off with Ubisoft’s latest, Splinter Cell: Conviction. Kev also chimes in with his thoughts on a new game for the Xbox Live Arcade, Final Fight: Double Impact. We wrap it all up with a look at highly anticipated film based on the comic by Mark Millar, Kick Ass.
I had a chance to speak with Matt Joudrey who was at Toronto Comic Con to promote his independent book St. Augustine published by At Bay Press. He gave me a rundown of the book and gave some details of his experiences producing an independent book.
Check out Matt’s site to find out more about the book and how you can get a copy.
